            CHICAGO- The Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation (DGEDC) announced today that two anchor stores, Golf Galaxy and Value City Furniture, have opened new locations in Downers Grove.  The stores are located on adjacent end caps on Butterfield Road.  The announcement was made during the International Council of Shopping Centers Deal Making Show at Navy Pier.

            Golf Galaxy has opened a 40,000 sq. ft. store at 1434 Butterfield Road in the former Toys ‘R Us location.  The center owned is by IRC.  Golf Galaxy is a subsidiary of Dick’s Sporting Goods, based in Corapolis, PA. 

            Value City Furniture has opened a 34,769 sq. ft. store at 1508 Butterfield Road in the former HH Gregg location.  The center is owned by Federal Realty.  Value City Furniture, based in Columbus, Ohio, has more than 120 stores in 18 states.
