FLAVORCHEM DEDICATES NEW PRODUCTION FACILITY IN DOWNERS GROVE

Downers Grove, Illinois-The Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation announced today that Flavorchem has dedicated their new $8.5 million, 40,000 sq. ft. liquid production facility at 1528 Brook Drive in Downers Grove. The company specializes in creating and manufacturing flavor and color solutions for the food and beverage industries. Flavorchem is a privately held, family oriented business. Customers include well recognized companies throughout the world.

“Flavorchem is pleased to expand our campus in Downers Grove” said Kenneth Malinowski, President of Flavorchem. “Our company has three core values: environment, workplace and community. We are dedicated to addressing these principles and embedding them in our daily operations.”

The Downers Grove campus includes Flavorchem’s corporate headquarters, the sales, customer service  and marketing offices, technical and production facilities, and distribution and packaging centers. The company also has another production facility in San Clemente California. With this expansion, Flavorchem’s facilities total 215,000 sq. ft. The company has 191 employees, plus temporary employees.

The Village of Downers Grove and the Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation assisted Flavorchem with this expansion project. In addition, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity provided EDGE tax credits to Flavorchem.

The dedication featured remarks by Mr. Malinowski, Sprovieri Family members, and Mayor Tully. Jackie Sprovieri, wife of the founder, cut the ribbon on the new facility. For more information on the company, visit www.flavorchem.com.
