DOWNERS\r\nGROVE, IL- The Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation announced today\r\nthat Goldfinger Brewing Company will open on July 31st<\/sup> at 12:00\r\np.m. Goldfinger is a new production\r\nbrewery and 2,500 sq. ft. taproom located at 513 Rogers Street in Downers\r\nGrove. Goldfinger is an exclusively\r\nlager beer brewery with three offerings to start: the Original Lager, Pils, and\r\nVienna Style Lager.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cWe are a family owned brewery named after our ancestors: the\r\nGoldfingers, who brewed beer, dealt hops, and made brewing equipment in central\r\nEurope in the 19th<\/sup> century\u201d said Owner\/Brewer Tom Beckmann. \u201cWe look\r\nforward to serving everyone at our new brewery in Downers Grove.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n The\r\nmodern beer hall style taproom features a 10 foot high glass giving customers a\r\nclear view of the production facility. \r\nThe taproom is illuminated by wrought iron chandeliers, and includes\r\nartifacts from thier ancestor\u2019s brewing history, including 19th<\/sup>\r\ncentury newspaper advertisements. Goldfinger features an outdoor beer garden\r\nwith two large tents. Guests can bring\r\nin their own food, or order in. In the\r\nfuture, food trucks will set up in the parking lot. There is also a multi-purpose room equipped\r\nwith a communal shuffleboard table and a dart board.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \u201cWe’re\r\nso excited that the Goldfinger Brewing Company is opening their new craft\r\nbrewery in Downers Grove\u201d said Mayor Robert Barnett. \u201cTom Beckmann is\r\ncontinuing a family tradition that began in Europe in the 1800s.
